Types of stoping
The Lunge Stop is a form of braking that occurs during a radial turn. You lose speed while turning, and the smaller the radius of the turn, the more effectively you brake.
Lunge Stop is similar to the Lunge turn, but its aim is different. Here the turn also starts from the initial position, then you need to bend at knee the leg that is ahead and straighten the leg that is behind as much as possible. Meanwhile, bend both of your legs to the side of your turn.
Don’t forget that your main goal is to brake, that is why having started your turn, gradually tend to the center of the circle that you trace in order to reduce your speed as quickly as possible.
